An increase in exterior living space is the primary addition in Gig Harbor home remodels. The American Institute of Architects announced that the call for patios, decks, and outdoor kitchens rose from 47 percent to 64 percent. Pools, tennis courts, and gazebos also ranked high as extras.

Single-story homes with open floor plans are what several homeowners are leaning towards. Easier mobility with wider hallways and less steps are what baby boomers, entering retirement age, look for. Young homebuyers look for open homes with less boundaries and structure. Will you be adding a tennis court to your Gig Harbor home any time soon?
