A lot of Gig Harbor homeowners are prepared for summer BBQ's and hours by the pool are necessary and plenty of Gig Harbor residents spend time in their backyard come summertime. A garden full of insects isn't quite as tantalizing as a garden full of summer veggies. Rough chemicals can cause cancer. Alternatively, try using products located in your home.

Annoying aphids can be exterminated by putting a mixture of dishwashing soap and water into a spray bottle. Every couple of days, spray the leaves and stems of contaminated plants and the aphids ought to be gone. You can even use this on slugs. A saltwater mixture can eradicate mites. Chili powder and water are a good way to battle ants and caterpillars.

If everything else fails, try using the food chain. Ladybugs feed on aphids, scales, and mites and praying mantis eat all sorts of insects. Spiders, wasps, and bees are actually a typical part of the food chain and will eliminate unwelcome insects. Using alternative materials on your garden is ideal for you and your Gig Harbor home .
