The predominant addition in Gig Harbor home remodels is an increase in outdoor living space. The call for patios, decks, and outdoor kitchens rose from 47 percent to 64 percent, based on the American Institute of Architects. Also highly ranked are pools, tennis courts, and gazebos.

In today's sector, a large number of homebuyers are leaning towards single-story homes with open floor plans. Easier mobility with expanded hallways and not as many steps are what baby boomers, entering retirement age, demand. Younger homebuyers, who grew up in structured, conventional houses, like open homes with less boundaries. Will you be adding a new deck to your Gig Harbor home in the near future?
