A families decision to live in the city or the suburbs is based on the childrens developmental phase. Typically, a family in a Gig Harbor home will live in the suburbs when their kids are younger. Children have much more freedom to play outdoors and with children their own age. Life is not as orderly in the suburbs and parents are able to pool recources with other parents regarding parenting methods.

A child is more likely to be near man-made structures when they hit middle school or adolescence, instead of a natural setting. Movie theaters and shopping malls become favored hangouts. Urban areas, with many more social activities and job opportunities, are where children have a tendency to move to once they enter adulthood.

When a child marries and has kids of his or her own, they often move back to the suburbs and the cycle starts over . Contact Gig Harbor real estate today for information on Gig Harbor homes!
